Merry Christmas All!

I hope Santa was good to you! He was good to me in me getting to spend Christmas w/my parents! I left home at the age of 18 and have never been back for Christmas or Thanksgiving. So it was really special for me and I told my DH that I didn't need anything else. Though he had already gotten me a CUTTLE BUG! woo hoo! Gotta love those insects.

IT was SO nice having my mom and dad here to spend Christmas w/the kids. My dad had never met Gman and my mom was here when he was born 2 years ago. Woo hoo. It was soo funny in I didn't want my dad to go w/o presents so I wrapped up his shoes for him to open! hehehe Which was rather comical since we had been to Kohls earlier and he bought a Columbia jacket and was looking for some columbia boots but they didn't have his size. I thought wrapping his columbia shoes would fit right in! Can I tell you what a clothes aholic my dad has become? He didn't do any of that when I was younger and now he walked away with most of the stuff!Four pairs of pants and a nice jacket. Wowsers!

Hugs to everyone on this Christmas Day!!

Just Desserts

Okay, here are the pictures of what we're taking to the family christmas today. I had them all packed up and opened them up to take the pictures.

First, here's the 4 Layer Lucious Pumpkin Cake in trifle form. The only thing missing (so use your imagination here) is I will top it off with carmel sauce (the ice cream topping kind) and scatter some chopped pecans on top. I, personally, don't like pecans, but I am betting that by the time I make it back for some, the pecans will be gone! One can hope can't one? heheh

Second picture is the Spinach and Feta Filled Phyllo Dough. Imagine spinach dip inside of phyllo dough if you will. DH says it's a bit bitter, but I just think it's the his subconscious dislike of the feta. It is a bit tangier from the Feta, but delicious none the less!

Okay, I'm off to shower and get ready for the get together. I've got to run into town and feed some dogs and pick up the kids' Christmas pictures... yes I'm THAT behind on my Christmas cards. hehehe. Then we're off to the Family Function in this BALMY 55 degree weather!!!

Can you believe at this time tomorrow we will have dropped 30 degrees? If not more?! Not to mention we'll acquire a 30-40 mph wind. I really dislike wind in the winter, it just cuts right thru ya! Yikes!

But on a good note, my parents will be flying in so you KNOW it will be all sunshine and birds a chirping tomorrow as I run around madly doing last minute cleaning and laundry.

Friday, December 21

YES, it HAS been...

FOREVER since I've posted. Interesting how time flies when you've got too much on your plate lol. This past week was a doozy. Lgirl had her Christmas Program Tuesday evening and Christmas party WEdnesday. So that meant I had to make Teacher gifts and goodies for her classmates AFTER the program.

Yes, I did stay up until 2:30am and Gman deemed it necessary to wake up just as my head touched my pillow and keep me up another hour... can you say YIKES?! hehehe
Here's a quick pick of what I made the teachers. Both got coaster calenders and a covered list. I also made peppermint bark and put it into some coffee bags I ordered. I LOVE that stuff. It is so delish! (Can you tell one teacher's favorite color is pink and the other's is purple? hehe)

Oh and that Pumpkin cake I sent to work w/hubby? Apparently set some kind of record because it was gone by 9am! Can you BELIEVE it?! I am in the middle of making another one to take to the Family Christmas get together tomorrow. I'm baking the cake right now and will put it all together tomorrow a.m. I'm going to put it into a trifle bowl, so I KNOW it will look good no matter how bad it looks! heheh If I remember, I will definitely take a picture of it.

I'm also going to start some spinach and feta cheese phyllo dough thingys. I will bake them in the a.m. so they will be 'fresh', well fresher than baking them tonight. They sound simply divine too! I can't wait to try them.

I also have to go take care of some dogs in the a.m. and maybe try to run by walmart and pick up the pics of the kids so I can send off the Christmas cards. Yes, I'm VERY late this year! I'm just getting out Gman's birthday invites and his bday is next FRIDAY! Hehhe Thank goodness he's only turning 2 and could care less. hehe
My parents will be arriving on Sunday! This was totally a last minute thing. I told my mom I'd pay for her to fly over (they live in Idaho) which originally would have been the 27th. Well, it was only $6 more for her to fly on the 23rd and I figured it was worth it for her to be able to spend Christmas with the kids. She hasn't seen Gman since he was born. She came for 2 weeks to help out. So it's been 2 years.
AND she asked me to get a ticket for my dad too so he can come. He's NEVER met Gman! I'm SOOO very excited. He wants to play with his grandkids, it's so odd to hear that as our other Papaw doesn't play with them ever. Sad, I know, but true.
Woo hoo I am sooo durn excited I could bust!! hehehe

Baking

up a storm! Well, not really but I AM baking! Hubby's company has a cool Christmas Pot Luck... for 10 days, you can sign up to bring in a dish for everyone to try... "What better way to try a new Holiday dish then on us? " is what it said in the email lol. I was going to send something spinachy, but decided to break them in easy w/ a dessert item.

I wanted to try that Kraft Luscious Four Layer Pumpkin Cake for Thanksgiving but never got to. I thought it would be too hard for hubby to get a 4 layer cake to work, let alone cut it and serve it lol. So I opted for a 9x13 cake and would add the filling to the top too. Well, it is pretty ugly for my standards, so ugly I won't show you lol. But can I tell you how delish it is? The batter was so good I knew it would be delish when it was done!

Who would have thought adding some pumpkin, a couple of eggs, oil, milk and eggs to a yellow cake mix could be so heavenly? Not to mention you then mix cream cheese with pumpkin, spices and powdered sugar (mine was lumpy and that really bothered me) and then fold in a whole tub of cool whip and that's delish too!

So you layer that between the layers (cut the cake in 1/2) and I put it on top too. Right before serving you drizzle with carmel sauce and throw on some crushed pecans. One word for ya baby.... YUMMMOOOO.

Now I'm making one of my Grandma's cookie recipes. Grandma's Cake Cookies. This recipe is my brother's and my little sister's recipe AND it's super easy. So, I'm 'multitasking' so to speak. I've got a cookie exchange on SAturday AND I always make treats for my family at Christmas (I usually try to do their favs) and send them to them. Woo hoo! I'll have one down and about 4 or 5 more recipes to go.

Want the recipe? Here it is:

Grandma's Cake Cookies
1 box cake mix
1 egg
1 8-oz. tub cool whip
powdered sugar

Mix cake mix (my family's fav is cherry chip, but they don't make that anymore so this time I combined strawberry and funfetti!!), egg and tub of cool whip well. If you do it by hand it will give you a serious workout!

Drop by spoonful into powdered sugar, roll into a ball. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
To me, these are soo super sweet they give me a stomach ache, but everyone else seems to LOVE them. Easy peasy!

Here are...

the rest of the Thank You cards I made for a customer. I apologize for some of the blurriness.

All SU: kraft, wild wasabi, river rock papers, DSP fall flowers and soft sky, Happiness BG. Soft sky double stitched ribbon, small and large oval punches. The only thing is I forget which stamp set has that Thanks in it.

All SU: I can't remember the green, I just KNOW I don't like it at all! I also used rose red and pretty in pink. I have also forgotten the stamp sets, yes, I have OFFICIALLY LOST MY MIND!! Yikes!

All SU: kraft, really rust, vanilla and wasabi papers. I used Apple Cider DSP and the True Friends set (which I heard MADE it into the spring catty!! Woo hoo!!). I used 2 circle punches and the scalloped circle punch, twill and brads.

12 Days of Christmas

Okay, I'm going to try and embed this in them post, it is SO hilarious! I love this video! hehehe Not as much as that other MOM, but this is really good and I laughed out loud a couple of times, esp. when it was 'draidel' time! heheh

Okay, I don't know how to do this so click on the link above and check out the AWESOME acapella from these guys! Enjoy!

Wow...

it has it been busy lately! We've added a new addition to the family... and he's a big one! Take a look at this lovely boy! He's a 180 lbs, though he doesn't look like it. He's such a good boy.

ETA: Oh I guess I'm in SUCH a hurry I forgot to put his name in!! **THANKS Libby!!** His name is Bourbon, he was born on Mardi Gras. I am a pet sitter (I watch other peoples animals while they're on vacation) and one of my customers wanted me to adopt him because they didn't have a fenced in yard and their house was too small for him. He's four years old and can anyone guess what breed he is? He's been my favorite since I was a teenager and he's the largest breed out there..... He's an IRISH WOLFHOUND. Hubby said they were first bred to pull men off of horses... I believe it!! hehe

Nothing like a dog this size to make you feel like your house is small and cluttered lol. Bumps into things and gets his legs stuck in toys. Wowsers!

AND he can drink from the kitchen faucet without standing on his tippy toes! hehehe Don'tcha just love him? Bigger than a small horse so I guess he's out llama. He's a bit scared of my hubby, but then again, most dogs are!

I also signed up for a challenge in November and finished it within the time limit, but alas I didn't get it back to Tracy at Tracy's Happy Place in time. Life decided to happen w/2 sick kids. Gotta love it when a double whammy hits ya! hehehe So anywho, my challenge was to use brocade blue, certainly celery and pumpkin pie. I had a fellow MOMS clubber place an order for some thank you cards so I decided to take care of 2 birds with 1 stone! hehehe Here's the card I ended up making:

Wow, sorry for the blurriness, but you get the picture! All ingredients are SU. I've got 3 other cards I made, but will post them tomorrow. Have a good evening all!

Do Ya Love....

T!m Holtz? Well, do you know he's got a blog? (HEy, I could be the last one to know... it's happened before lol). I have been known to be THAT behind in the times! hehehe

Anywho... he's doing a Christmas Special... 12 Days of Christmas Techinques ! Can you believe it?! NOt to mention him giving out blog candy EVERY DAY TOO!!! Check it out HERE!

I have a snowball's chance... but a girl can dream! ehhhe THough today's technique scares me a bit.

Another AWESOME blogger is Starr Mercer (LOVE THAT NAME!!) She's a fellow SU demonstrator AND a Starbucks addictee. SHE's showcasing 12 DAYS OF RECIPES... the SKOR TOFFEE CHOCOLATE BARS look simply delish! I might have to make some of those hehehe.

So check out her blog too. I've got a sick child here at home that I get to 'drag' outta the house to FINALLY get my 2nd row, passenger side seat belt fixed (I hope!). We'll see how long it takes the dealership. Last time it took them 1 1/2 hrs to tell me they couldn't fix it without ordering a part. Nothing like waiting at a dealership that has a tv in the playroom that doesn't work and toys that have some much dirt and grunge on them you can't see who makes them. It had a dvd player w/no dvds though. I brought my own last week and couldn't get them to play. I seriously wanted to bang my head against the wall.

We were there a couple of months ago and I cleaned all the toys w/baby wipes and told them the chairs just needed to be wiped to get the BLACK smudges off of them. Do you think it got done? NOPE!

So I'm ready w/my CHARGED up portable DVD player (Black Friday snag!!) and I'll be taking dvds and a snack so hopefully the kids won't touch the dirty stuff. hehehe One can hope!

Have a GREAT day!

Stampin' Up's Retired List!!!

Okay, here are two links to Stampin' Up's retired list. One is alphabetical and the other is numerical. Check them OUT! If there's something you want, let me know because they'll be gone after December 31st. Sooner if they are a 'hot' item and sell out.

Alphabetical
Numerical

The retiring accessories (wheels are included in this category) list will be out on December 10th.

I can tell you I am definitely going to be selling off some of my retireds. So email me to see if I have it first and if so, I'd be HAPPY to sell it to you! Woohoo a WIN WIN situation!

I'm off to bed and I've got an SU party tomorrow. Afterwards I PROMISE to post some pictures of stuff!! Wish me luck and a 'fruitful' party! hehehe

Thursday, November 29

Check out this....

nice RACK!!

Those of you who know me well, know I get boob envy on occasion! But look at the picture on the rack... Isn't it hilarious?! You can enter for a chance to win a FREE shirt just like this!! Click HERE and post a comment. I love the shirt and would probably get the laundry one or the cooking one.

Lgirl is coming down with SOMETHING so I had to go do the grocery shopping tonight and buy $20 worth of cold meds, juice and soda (for the hubby not Lgirl!) so I'm covered for tomorrow. We are staying in and just chilling so we can try and nip this puppy in the bud!

Okay, I've got to put away 10 bags of groceries and take care of some laundry before I turn in for the night. Just wanted to share a NICE RACK with y'all!

NOTE: Tomorrow is the last day to place an order for some of the 15/16" Satin ribbon that Stampin' Up has on sale right now. It comes in pomegranate or chocolate chip (LOVE THEM!!). You can either buy 15 yrds (one roll) or 7.5 yrds (1/2 a roll). They're 1/2 price right now so 1 roll is around $5. You can't beat that at all! So let me know if you are interested in some and we can work it out.

Sweet dreams!

Workshop Cards...

Here is the first of three cards I did at a workshop recently. I decided to go out on a limb (for me anyways) and showcase ONE stamp set... can you believe just ONE??? Well, it was Season of Joy. And I'm MIGHTY proud of myself I might add! I came up with three different cards.

SO here's the first one w/the snowflakes. I hope you like it. I need to find the others so I can take a pic (or scan them in) and post them.

ETA: Tammy wanted to know what colors I used, sorry I forgot! I used SU's blue bayou and soft sky. I used the season of joy stamp set, blue bayou double stitched ribbon and 3 circle punches (1 1/4, 1 3/8, 1 1/2). I also used some of the retired silver cording from last years catalog.

Hugs to ya... BLOG CANDY will be going out on Tuesday! I find it interesting that my THREE blog candy winners all hale from different parts of the US. One lives in Spokane, WA, another in Jersey and the last in Missouri. Isn't that cool? Sorry I don't get out much hehehe.

Hugs!

Our Lucy...

I wanted to post this picture of Lucy, our great dane. I miss her bunches but I know she's in a better place and she's running around w/our Rottie, Harley. I miss him too. We've found a rottie that is in a rescue and needs a good home.

My client (pet sitting) who wants us to adopt her Irish Wolfhound (my all time FAV) didn't call today and I'm not going to bother her. When she's ready, she'll give me a jingle. It's hard giving up your baby even if you know he/she will be happier. Sometimes it's easier to fix it at home (like building a fence) vs. giving him to someone.

TEN Days????

Has it been that long? Wow... well, I was sick most of it and just got better in the last 2-3 days. Then there was a Holiday in there SOMEWHERE ** Happy Belated Thanksgiving All!!!**

And then BLACK FRIDAY... **dum, dum, DUMMMM** Yes, I DID get up at 3:30am. Well, since Gman woke me up twice in the 3 hrs I was trying to get some sleep I figured why try and sleep now?? So... I was waiting at wally world for a new DVD player since ours conked out while we were at the vet trying to take care of Lucy AND the kids were in the other car. Luckily it started raining so they couldnt' see.

Can you believe I started shopping at 5am and finished at 7am? I don't mess around! I met my girlfriend at Walmart and from there we went to Target. Then we finished there and went to peruse Meijer and found our deals there too! Can you believe I got everything I was looking for (and the some!!). WOOO HOOOO!!

Okay, I'm a bit slap happy (can ya tell?) so I'm off to bed bc I have to take the van in tomorrow a.m. to get the seat belt fixed. Always a pain w/the kid's belt won't retract!! I will post some pics real soon here!

Hugs...

Blog Candy WINNERS

Yes, I know....I DIDN'T get a picture of the BLOG candy generated. I will show what was won, I promise. Wow, can you believe I had THIRTY-NINE people comment??? I think that's sooo cool! I mean it's not like in the hundreds or something, but it is something to strive for! woo hoo! heheh

I am honored so many ppl commented so I picked THREE numbers, can you believe it? I just have to count down to find out who one. The prize packages will include (but is not limited in any way to): blank 4 inch medium weight coasters, an alterable of some sort, so SU patterned paper, some metal of some kind and maybe some bling! Oh and a $1 acrylic stamp or two. Woo hoo!

Let's see who the lucky gals are:

Congrats ladies! Email me your address and I will get the goodies into the mail. Thanks to all who replied. I appreciate it a bunch! I will have to give away more candy soon... it was so darn fun! hehehe

Have a great day. Gman and I will be hitting JoAnn's and Costco this a.m. while Lgirl is at preschool. Nothing like speedy shopping to keep the spending to a minimum! hehe

Showers, Showers, Everywhere!

I had another craft show this weekend. It was for a good cause, Juvenile Diabetes. I had a good time, saw some girls I know (**waves to Jessica, HEy!) and sold some stuff.

Lgirl's at grandma's for TWO nights so hubby had to go solo w/gman! They had fun and got to take a nice, long nap. Hubby patroled Friday night and he's doing 3rd shift tonight. He's a reserve so he does it for FREE!
I went to a baby shower for his cousin in law a couple of weekends ago... and here are TWO cards I made for it. THe first is from my MIL and the 2nd one is from me. Enjoy!

I'm off to bed so I can try and get my winter clothes out tomorrow and I need to work on more craft stuff for this weekend. It's a big one so I've got 20 snowmen to make and untold sets of Christmas cards. Toodles!

In Loving Memory....

of our GREAT DANE, Lucy Goosey! I miss her dearly. You never realize how much a big dog gives you a sense of security until they're gone. No more barking... now Mr. Brown comes and goes and I never know...

I have a pet sitting customer who wanted me to adopt her Irish Wolfhound (my all time FAVORITE dog!!) so we are checking into that. IF not, we will probably start looking, albeit slowly, for a rottie puppy. Hoping to get one in the spring... now is NOT a good time to potty train a puppy! YIkes!

Like My New Colors??? Plus BLOG CANDY!!!!

One of the gals at SUDSOL (GREAT site for Demos!!! And well worth the money.) came out w/the RGB colors for all the SU ones!! I have to say though, some that I input did not look the same when presented as big as the background of my blog lol. THe rust looked guava-y so I had to settle for Close to Cocoa.

Any WHO... seems we have an excess of CANDY around here and I decided to share. So... if you would like some of the Calorie free stuff... *gasp* dare I say it? *gasp* I am offering up my VERY FIRST Blog Candy???? Maybe I have a fever?! hehehe So... just leave a post and I will be offering up some goodies... I'm BIG on giving so not to worry... it will be DELISH!!

I suppose I will HAVE to post a picture now won't I??? Fine, fine... I'll get a picture posted by Sunday... I will keep it open until Monday morning... or afternoon since Mondays are busy around here!!

Come on in and join the fun!! I will randomly pick a number using that random site that I randomly wrote on a random piece of paper and randomly put it upon my desk. Though the last RANDOM might be better has HAPHAZARDLY! hehehe

The InspiRING

I signed up to be part of an InspiRING back in September on Amy's blog (Gone INKognito)... what is an InspRING you ask? Well, check out this link to get the Overview AND Rules!

So here's a picture to the card I received from Lori W....

I was to get inspired by this card and take something from it and make my own card. It could be the colors, the layout, ANYTHING... well, here's what I came up with:

I took the general layout from the first card. I was also going to use the ribbon, but felt I didn't have room on this card. I really liked how this card came out. All ingredients are SU: Season of Joy, Label set from Hostess choices (forgot the name lol), Always Artichoke and Bravo Burgundy. I did use a now retired DSP from last year. I think it's called Rebecca. I also used the new corner rounder to scallop both top and bottom and then used a 1/16th hole punch and eyeballed each hole on each scallop. The brads (both circle and star) and the bling on the tree are non SU. Oh and I'm pretty sure I used the Sakura Gel Pen, but that goes w/o saying now doesn't it?? hehehe

Okay, I'm off to put the kiddos to bed (they're running off their ice cream sugar high lol) then I will be working on my 3 Christmas cards for my Par-tay tomorrow night. I've decided to showcase the versatility of the Season of Joy set and make all three cards from it! Can you believe it?! I've made 2 so I thought what's one more?? Silly me! hehehe

Then I've got to make a couple of door prizes and a hostess gift. Oh and work on some more Craft show goodies if I have time. I will show you guys what I made for last Saturday's craft show.

Hugs!

Halloween Pictures

of the kiddos. Here are the pictures of the kids on Halloween night. Lgirl was a fairie, but we found these cool tights I bought last year and put them on her.
Here's Gman as a puppy doing his best puppy face. Though that's the face he now does for all pictures! He wouldn't wear the head all night though. People thought he was cute enough w/o the head and gave him extra candy! lol

And here is a VERY RARE picture of both of them smiling AND looking at the camera at the same time. I just might have to frame this one. I usually give up trying to get them both looking and smiling together. Lgirl usually smiles and says whatever I tell her too but her eyes are looking elsewhere!

Enjoy.

Halloween Goodies

Okay, I was in a Halloween swap last month... here are pictures of what I made and sent. I made goodies bags for her children and I also made a birthday pack, but forgot to take a picture of it. I altered a lemonade container, the kids drink about one a week! The other bottle is from an organic dairy in zionsville. Trader's Point has the BEST chocolate milk! It's a dark chocolate milk...yummmm....
Here are the goodie bags for the kids. They range in age from 1 1/2 yrs to 14 (I think. ) I have since forgotten. My memory is so fleeting these days!
Here's Kim's goodie package. Check out her blog, she's got an awesome one!
Here's the stuff she sent me. Loved it all!!! I guess I need to change my 'blog look' since it's no longer October! lol. Hmmmmm.... what color to 'be'??? Maybe certainly celery or maybe old olive? hehehe

I've got a workshop on Wednesday so I need to get ready for that. Hugs to everyone!

A Frog...

in my froat! Yes, I'm still alive, but barely! It seems that a week of staying up 'til all hours makes your immune system get low therefore allowing germies to get in and infiltrate the body. NOT GOOD!

So, I had my first craft show today. I will be posting pictures, I promise! Lots of them! And I did really good today! Woo hoo. I then lost my voice. I sound quite masculine. I am hoping it's a cold and will be going to bed momentarily to see if some R&R will help. I don't want strep! YIkes!

I'll be back soon!

October Almost Over?

Can you believe it? I remember like it was just yesterday I was volunteering at Riley Days! Wowsers. Okay, so here are a couple of pics of the cards I made for Riley Days, really quick cards I might add!

The cat on the left was done w/watercoloring and the cat on the right was done w/colored pencils and gamsol. I liked the watercolored one beter. It was a little less time consuming too. The cat stamp is from the retired cat set from last year (or it could have been the year before!).

This dog image is an old SU image too. Oooh, I forgot to add my watermark.

Everyone have a good weekend? Well, last week was a bit hard, we had to put down Lucy, our great dane, on Friday. She was no longer putting weight on her leg and was falling at least once a day if not more. Sigh... I sure miss having a big dog around. Not to mention it gives you a false sense of security! We will be getting another one eventually, but we'll take our time. THought of trying to take a vacation but I doubt that will happen!

I will have 3 craft shows this month, so I will be running around like a chicken w/my head cut off trying to get things made for those. This first is this weekend. Wish me luck!

GREAT Update from Stampin' Up!

I wanted to let you guys know that Stampin' Up! has changed their Angel Policy... FINALLY!!

Stampin' Up! has announced that beginning Nov. 15th, we can sell our stamped items online and at retail stores. I can't wait! My hairdresser said I could sell card sets at her store and I am SO excited! I can't wait to give it a whirl. I might even try some Name Frames. I will have one or two there for a display and then let people call me to custom order them.

Woo hoo... I'm so excited... and I just can't hide it!

Thankful Garland

Here's a picture of the Thankful Garland I am making in a workshop. I used the same paper order as the Holiday Mini, but added my own stuff to some of the letters. Gotta put some bling in there! hehehe
The workshop will be at 7pm on Wednesday, November 7th. It's $25 and includes a package of the chipboard (a $16 value) w/your purchase. I will also have a follow up class in December to make a Noel Garland.

I think Stampin' Up's November special is a GREAT one! Buy THREE packages of Designer Paper and get ONE FREE. You can't beat that! Works GREAT for scrappers too, as well as card makers. If you see some Fall/Winter papers you LOVE, better order them now because word is they won't make it into the next catalog. Here's to hoping they will be replaced by some more GREAT paper! woo hoo!
Okay, I'm off to make calendar coasters for my craft fairs. Have a good week everyone!

Germanfest

was tonight! My daughter's preschool has one fundraiser, it's a Germanfest every year. They also have a silent auction too. There were a TON of stuff auctioned off. It's amazing. I won a trip to Boondock's (a local pumpkin patch in GRAND farm) and a GC to a local meat market which is AMAZING! I can't believe no one actually bid on it.

I decided to auction off a Tile Coaster Workshop. That way whomever won could make their own favorite coasters. Well, my MIL kept bidding on it and won it. And she isn't even going to be making a set!! lol She's going to invite some gals from work, but it has to be all 'hush hush' and on the 'down low' as one of the gals recently became an SU demo. SO I understand completely. I told her she should have them JELLO WRESTLE to see who gets the 4 spots! hehehe Now wouldn't that be a sight?!

Here's the Thanksgiving Garland I made similar to the one in the Holiday Mini. I did the same order of papers, but added a bit to a couple of them. I had to add some bling bling! LOVE my bling baby!
I'll be offering this class in the first week of November. HOpe to get some people over to make this and such. We'll see. I need to get cracking on the email w/the link to this picture! hehe Okay, I"m off to clean the kitchen. Nighty-night all!

Other Three Coasters

Okay, here are the other 3 coasters. All stamps are Stampin' Up! stamps. I colored with markers and used a blender pen to blend. I also used the Sakura Gel pen (LOVE THAT THANG!!) on the dragonflies, butterflies, whipped foam on the coffee cups and bee on the botanicals.

I baked all of them for 20 min at 200 degrees. Boy do they hold their heat well! hehe I put 3 light coats of acrylic sealer on them. And finally, I put some felt feet on them and one in the middle in case they slide. I also measured and made a box for them to sit in. **pats herself on the back** I will cut a piece of acetate to lay inside the box on top, and I just might make a belly band too.

I made one other set using the Wild Rose one, but for some odd reason, that was the ONLY set that bled. I was MAJORLY bummed as I specifically borrowed this set from my upline.

I may post it as most people who have seen it thinks it looks good blurry, but not MOI! I might make one of each design and have them out for people to order if I sell out. It wouldn't hurt now would it?! HOpe you guys like them! *Ü*

Busy as a Beaver...

that's what I've been! I had my last Christmas Card Club meet on Monday evening and then I've got a new lady (HI! Cindy!) coming over tonight to play catch up with the Christmas Cards. I know, I need to post #3 and #4. I will, I promise! hhhee

For now, you will just have to be HAPPY with what I was working on all weekend. I hope you guys like the coasters. I am making them to sell at some craft shows in November. Here are 3 of the designs, I'll post 3 more tomorrow!

Well, apparently blogger is having uploading issues so I guess you won't get to see them at all! Bummer. I FINALLY have a 'plethura' (I know, it's spelled wrong) of pics to upload. Wouldn't cha know?! hehhee
Bobbie :)

ETA: Blogger is letting me upload! I will upload the other 3 right now in a different post... it's almost tomorrow! hehe

Top O' the Morning

to Ya! Heehehee This is the FIRST Saturday in a long time that we have not had a thing planned, so we are going to try and hit the gym that we recently signed up for. SHould be interesting trying to get Gman acclimated and not screaming his brains out. We'll see how bad it gets.

I will leave you with one of my FAVORITE non SU stamps, though everything else is SU I believe. I've got a THING for poppies. I love, love, LOVE those things! Every time I see them in someone's yard, I want to go (asking first) uproot a couple to see if I can get them to grow in my yard. Sigh...
I was also going to try the shattered glass technique, but didn't want to stay up until who knows when to add 3 more layers to it! So this was only one layer and I guess it could be called the 'watery' technique lol.

Went to the Vet

and he confirmed that Lucy's lump is cancer. Sigh.... and all I keep hearing from people is, 'That's what happens when you have a big dog.' Versus what? Dieing (I can't even remember how to spell that... how pitiful is that?!) from old age? So, my 5lb Yorkie won't get cancer but will lose his eye sight, sense of smell, ability to hold his bladder and lose his hearing? Jeez, I don't know which is the lesser of two evils.

Anywho, Lucy is on pain killers for a while, hubby couldn't put her down just yet. Me, I wanted to get it over and done with as I have to see her and every day and watch her fall and/or stumble and help her into her bed. I think it's much harder on me.

Can you guys say Brrr??? It has turned cold here in 2 days... can you believe we had 91 degrees on Sunday and today's high was 62? Is that crazy or what? lol

I had my last Stamp Club meeting last night. We had a banana split par-tay and the girls were able to go thru my scraps and punch until they got carpal tunnel! I meant to take a picture, even thought I did, but alas I didn't.

I've also been stamping coasters. I will have to take pictures of those. I turned a set in to Lgirl's preschool for a fundraiser. Forgot a pic of that too... where's my head gone? lol

Okay, I'm off to bed, but first to finish my Halloween goodies for my halloween swap.

Sweet Dreams!

Gman's First Stamping...

experience, if you could call it that! I was having a GREAT day, Laurel (my friend from Kokomo) was still here and she was showing me how to stamp on coasters. I was looking for my RED stazon because I wanted to test it out and see what color it was when I got distracted by my Dane, Lucy. She's got a major lump on her leg and has been favoring it all weekend.

Why is it that whenever MY kids or pets get sick/have something wrong, it's always on a Friday evening after everything's closed for the weekend? Then I've got to worry about it all weekend and waste what few brain cells I have left agonizing over whether I should take them to the doc/vet or wait until Monday? I HATE that... and this weekend is NO different! Must be all the 3 day weekends. (It happened Memorial Weekend AND Labor Day Weekend). So, I'm calling the vet at 8:01am tomorrow morning as I think it is going to be BAD news and be cancer. It's just really hard and popped up overnight.

Anyways, I digress... I was searching for the Blaze Red (thinking I'm going crazy AGAIN) when Gman comes in from the living room with it in his hands putting on the lid. My heart skips a beat and I run over and take it from him. I head into the living room dreading what I might see... and VOILA, my son has decided to run the pad like a car around my footstool. Can you believe it? There were a couple of finger prints on the arm of the recliner, but I was able to get it out with the cleaner. I decided to save my cleaner since the footstool is old.

Gman's hands were all red (appropriate for Halloween lol) and I promptly took him into the bathroom to get most of it washed off. His tips were still red as you can see in the picture. Now doesn't he look a little too smug in the pics?

So I'm thinking about either buying some ultra clean (though the smell just KILLS me!) or making a cover for the footstool. And, of course, Lgirl comes up to me and says rather cautiously, "Mom *slight pause* if I put my foot on the stool will it TURN RED?" lol.
I hope everyone's weekend wasn't as eventful as mine lol.

WORLD CARD MAKING DAY...

is TODAY!!! Woo hoo. I'll be having an open house today from 10am to 1pm, so if anyone lives locally, COME ON BY!! I'd love to have ya. We'll be making a Fall card, though with our weather, it should be a SUMMER card.

Can you believe we broke a record Friday that was set in 1922? And today and tomorrow are both supposed to be up around 89 degrees. Yikes! I kept threatening a bikini, but I would NOt be in public... hehehe

Also local this weekend is the Riley Days Festival. We have it EVERY YEAR on the 1st weekend in October in Greenfield. It goes from Thursday evening, all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Loads of vendors with more crafts than you can shake a stick at. Not to mention loads of food too. I LOVE the walking tacos I buy from a local vendor here. Sure there's is 50 cents for than the carnies, but first of all they are local and second of all... carnies give you chili and cheese. Where as my guy gives you chili, SHREDDED cheese, lettuce, sour cream, olives, salsa, jalepenos, and onions if you so desire... I DON'T! You can't beat that for 50 cents!!
I also volunteer for the Hancock County Humane Society. Now BK (before kids), I would volunteer there once a week helping clean up after the cats. We can't house dogs because we don't have the facilites. AK (after kids) I only volunteer at Riley Days and for the rabies clinics we have in the summer. So I did my shift tonight w/my GREAT friend Stephanie. I was trying to move some SERIOUS doggie sweaters, biscuits (made locally by volunteers every year and are preservative FREE), cat toys, dog leashes and bowls and a bunch of other things. There was even a black halter dress for a dog... can you believe it?! I can't!! I was workin' it good!

I also make cards to sell there. Though I think I should just give up and go back to biscuits. People are more willing to shell out $1 for some awesome biscuits for their dogs vs. $5 for 4 notecards. No matter how cute they are. I took some pics of the notecards and will have to post them tomorrow maybe.

Made a couple of pet sitting contacts and even met a gal interested in making some cards (HI CINDY!!) which I'm excited about bc I always like making cards! hehehe

I'll be busy w/the open house tomorrow plus my girlfriend, Laurel, is coming down from Kokomo and she's going to stamp all day w/me and stay the night to boot! woo hoo. So I'm hoping to post something either tonight or tomorrow, but don't hold it against me baby! Have a GREAT weekend and let's all get a sunburn so we can remember the summer! hehehe

Oh and I've decided to post my last scrapbook page of Lainie that I entered into the artisan awards. I hope you like it. Pretty darn nifty! I LOVE these pics and wouldn't you know I accidentally deleted them off my camera?

I've Gone PINK!!!

for Breast Cancer Awareness Month! I didn't realize it WAS Breast Cancer Awareness Month until I read it on Kristina Werner's Blog. I LOVE her blog and read it daily. I used to use feedburner, but got tired of all the emails, since I get a TON more. SO I switched to Google Reader and I really like it!

Back to the PINK... my mum is a Breast Cancer survivor going on like 9 years now and I guess my Aunt (on the chinese side who lives in Taiwan) had to have a masectomy in the past. So, one day (now YEARS ago) I went from being clueless about Breast Cancer to finding out that I have a 'history' of it and, therefore, am at a higher risk to get it.

Well, if any of you have ever met me (just a few but I'm SURE it has been/was QUITE memorable hehehe) you would know that if I got a LUMP in my breast I'd definitely KNOW about it and would like to maybe have another on the other side so they would BOTH be bigger... hahhaha.

I was dodging the old mammogram because I am SERIOUSLY a wimp when it comes to pain... I mean SERIOUSLY. I can't put my hand in that wax bc it's too hot for me... (I was always the *wimpy, wimpy, wimpy* from that HEfty commercial!). I FINALLY got one last year (I was 37 and should have had one at 35 since I have a history) and wouldn't you know the insurance PLAN my hubby's company switched to wouldn't cover it before 40? EVEN WITH A HISTORY??? Ahhh well, no swollen mammory glands here... sigh.. I will have to think of another way.

Yes, I DO have boob envy... but in a GOOD way. If I say ya 'got a nice rack' then that's a compliment and you should say THANKS! My guy friends used to love going out w/me bc I'd check out the chicks with them and I'd NEVER steer them wrong. hehehe

Okay, I guess I better get back to the laundry... I hear it calling my name.

Oh and I also have a girlfriend (who leaves the BEST comments on my blog!!) is also a Breast Cancer survivor! She found a lump in her breast on MOTHER"S DAy while she was 7 months preggers... can you believe the luck in that? They took Alexis a month early and then she got to go thru that nifty (w HEAVY sarcasm) chemo and radiation. Yikes. She's doing good and Alexis is now in Kindergarten. Boy time sure flies!

Here it is...

the versamark resist card I was talking about yesterday. I thought I'd post it now and keep you outta suspense hehehe. All ingredients SU. I used Elegant Eggplant, Certainly Celery and Purely Pomegranate. I think everything's self explanatory. Made the scalloped edge w/ the new corner rounder, very cute little scallop. THough the one I received is BROKEN. One of the corners is no cut out all the way, so it sticks every time you punch with it.
This was a Color Challenge I put out to Libby and Stephanie. Libby sent a picture of her card so I thought I should post mine! This WAS the only set I purchased from the Holiday Mini and I was so proud of myself, but I have NOW broken down and purchased Season of Joy... sigh...

I CASED a card made by Cindy Kicinski at the shoebox swap at last month's Indy Inkerz Meeting. In case you don't know, that's a yahoo group headed by Kathy McDowell. Check out her blog too... though she is on a cruise right now and probably doesn't want to be disturbed hehehehe.

Anyways, I'm not too crazy about the celery in this card. I think it might look better w/a river rock background vs. celery. HOpe you guys are inspired!

Face of the Earth...

is somehow missing... or have I FALLEN OFF??? I cannot believe how much time has passed and I haven't posted. How bad is that? lol I could have sworn I did, maybe it was just a dream... what a shame that is. ANYWHOO....

Have I been busy? Why yes, yes I have lol. Don'tcha hate when you have so many things happening on the weekends that it feels like the weekdays? And I'm a SAHM to boot! lol Well, aside from the pet sitting and the Stampin' Up Demoing! hehehe

My upline, Tracy (HEY GIRL), drove up (or down, I think it's across but that just sounds weird) this weekend so we could go to a local MOPS all day scrap. We didn't have to work it, we got to play! She drove up Friday evening and we played until 1am, well that's when I went to bed, I think she went a little earlier. Then we got to the scrap at 8:30am and stayed until 5pm. We proceeded to pick up pizza, beer and smirnoff Ice's and then headed home. Then I showed her how to make the Boo Boxes and the Paper Pumpkins and then it was off to bed. She drove home Sunday a.m. to make it to church w/her hubby and kids. She's a GREAT gal and I love her to death! Should have gotten pics of us... duh!

At the scrap, we made some Versamark Resist cards that I've been wanting to case since I went to that Indy inkerz Shoe Box Swap. I also wanted to use the color combo Eggplant Envy, Certainly Celery and Purely Pomegranate. A stamp club member of mine (HI LIBBY!!) ordered those colors last month and I thought they looked GREAT together. So I told her, Stephanie (another SC member HEEY GIRLFRIEND) that we were going to do a Color Combo Challenge and use those 3 colors. Libby sent me her card last week so I needed to get on the ball.

So I'm going to post the boo boxes and the paper pumpkins today. I don't want to overload everyone. I am going to make a CONCERTED effort to post more regularly and post more cards and stuff... wish me luck! heheh

We'll be making these pumpkins at my Open House this Saturday, for World Card Making Day. ANd since someone pointed out that they WEREN'T cards, we will be making a card too, but I don't have it finished. lol

Enjoy!!

Thursday, September 20

Goodness...

where does the time fly? Has it been a week since I've posted? I feel like I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off! Yikes.

Okay, well here's the Christmas one my Stamp Club made the last meeting. I used it for a shoebox swap I was in last Saturday. I don't think some of the gals liked it as I made 14 sets and there were more than 2 sets left over. It involves a simple origami fold. I should have written some good directions, but i didn't have time. I did provide a diagram though. Next time, I will have a better card for the ladies.

It was my VERY FIRST Indy Inkerz meeting and I had a GREAT time! We met at Brook's house (awesome house, hubby and dog!!) and there were 12 ppl participating in the shoebox swap. It was supposed to be over at noon, but I didn't end up leaving until 1:30pm! There was some AWESOME food to sample. Kathy (head of Indy Inkerz) is spearheading a 2nd Annual SCS Gathering in November. I have a craft show that weekend (and the next TWO!) but I hope to help out w/making stuff they need and maybe even baking! I will have to find the cards and upload them so you guys can check them out! Some great talent out there.

Then I headed over to my good friend, Laurel's house, and stayed late into the night (I think 12:30am) and stamped with her. She fed me some pork roast w/sauerkraut and mashed potatotes and it was DELISH! Yummm!!! I had a lot of fun with her and got to think up a few things to make for the craft shows I'm going to be in in November.
Okay, I'm off to tag more baby clothes and toys for a sale that I'm a consigner in tomorrow. I will also be going to 'volunteer' (aka bust my booty from 3:30pm to 10pm!!) there tomorrow evening. The sale is held by the Moms of Multiples in Greenwood, Indiana, and is on Saturday from 8am to 12pm. I have never come on Saturday nor do I want to lol. Tooo darn busy for me! Let's just hope my stuff sells. Let's keep our fingers crossed on the crib! woo hoo.

We Interupt this Show...

so I can post a card (per my upline's request... Hi Tracy!!). I mentioned that my stamp club came over last week and made 3 Holiday cards. Well, I can't really post any bc the Halloween one went to a swap, the Thanksgiving one got SUPED up and sent to my last BIO swap (sniff sniff) and the Christmas one is going to go into a shoebox swap I'm doing this weekend when the Indy Inkerz get together for there bimonthly meeting! I'm so excited I FINALLY get to make it to one of them! woo hoo!

Okay, so I've sent off the Halloween swaps and now I'm going post it! Hope you guys like it. This was definitely the easiest of the 3 cards and needs no or very little explaining. All Stampin' Up ingredients. I cased the card from the Booglie Eyes gallery on Splitcoaststampers. Don't remember who's case it was, sorry about that. But I'm sure you'd recognize it if you saw it! hehee
Enjoy... we'll return to your normal viewing tomorrow with the 3rd and final installment of my scrapbook page.
