Card from Sandee

Hi there!
I am frantically getting ready for my Open House which is Friday and Saturday evenings from 6p-8p. I can't wait! I received my new catalogs today WOO hOo! My girlfriend and Stamp Club member, Laurel, is coming down from Kokomo on Saturday and staying all day and night! Woohoo!

Mother Nature (or should it be Father Winter?), on the other hand, is not cooperating! Which makes it harder. I just got stuck in my drive way coming home and was stuck going out this morning but was able to rock myself out lol. Whew!

I've got some neighbor boys (whom I call my 'Cabana' boys) coming over to shovel my drive so that the ladies will have a place to park.

This card was a swap I recived from Sandee Roberts. It is really nice. The stamp sets are Bloomin' Beautiful and Heard from the Heart. She used chocolate chip twill ribbon, baja breeze paper and I THINK Bella Rose Designer Series Paper.

Pick A Petal

Hey there, it's been a busy week. And we are going to get some serious snow! woo hoo. The kids and I played in it this afternoon and they had a load of fun!

Here's a card by Leslie Knight from Elk Grove, California. I received it in a swap from Convention '07. How do I know? ONly because she used Blue Bayou and Soft Sky, both IN colors of yester year. I really like the layout of this card. VERY nice!

The ribbon looks a different color, but it isn't. It must be my scanner! Yikes.

NEW Idea Book is HERE!

I can't believe the day has finally come! The NEW 2009 Spring/Summer Idea Book is finally here!

There are some REALLY cool new stamp sets, I LOVE the new dog one. Finally one I don't have to color in! woo hoo! New punches.

There are also some really AWESOME new Designer Series Paper! Unbelieveable. I will definitely be doing a DSP share if anyone wants a piece of each paper. They are soooo lovely! I'm very excited about them. There are also BEAUTIFUL new accessories and COOL ribbon. We now sell crocheted flowers for your cards and scrapbook pages! New flower brads, chip board, glitter, jumbo and corduroy brads, COLORED rubons, ric rac ribbon and MUCH more! A whole line of fairytale princess with knights & dragons and a castle to boot!

I think Stampin' Up! outdid themselves this time. Did I say that last catalog? Probably so! The Décor Elements is awesome too. I waited thru Phase II and have to say the wait was well worth it. Phase III has some really neat things in it. I really, really like the tree in the picture below! Just AWESOME!!

I really like that they have a variety of freebies. If you want some ribbon you can choose the ribbon option and get 2 rolls for FREE! Just in time for Spring. Celery 5/8" grosgrain is one of my favorite ribbons. I love that color for spring.

Birthday Invite

Here's an invite I made for a Cousin in law of mine, Katie. Her daughter, Kendra, was born on Gman's birthday last year. Katie's a lot of fun and helps me get ready for craft shows.

Anywho, I really LOVE this owl, I wasn't going to post this card because it actually has a non SU stamp on it. But I LOVE the owl so I said why not? The owl is made by Kim Hughes at Cornish Heritage Farms. Now I don't normally like their stamps, but she has some really nice ones! I purchased a turkey and a snowman, which hopefully I will get to use next year lol.

Everything else is Stampin' Up! I used the Party Hardy, Dotted BG and Season of Friendship stamp sets. I printed the words via the computer in chocolate chip ink. I really LOVE that we can match the RGB codes to colors! I masked her on to the limb and her eyelashes, fluff on the hat and a few more places are sparkly w/a Sakura Gel pen.

Don't forget the NEW 2009 Spring/Summer Idea Book comes out on Monday! If there's anything you want off the retired list then you need to buy it by Sunday!

Brrr...

The cold weather is coming down the pipeline and I really don't want to be here lol. Ten degrees is just NOT my cup of tea! Yikes. I don't mind cold & I love snow, but the minus degrees cold is totally not necessary, KWIM? If it's going to BE that cold, is it REALLY necessary so to have wind? I mean seriously, that's just adding insult to injury!

Anyways, here's a card I received at convention last year that doesn't have an ounce of stamping on it... Our Simply Scrappin' Kits are just so darn versatile. You can use the scraps from your scrapbook pages or pieces you didn't use on it to make cards! Win win for everyone!

Sketch To Try

I've started a fun little contest with my Stampin' Up! customers. I emailed them a Sketch to Try. It's a card sketch to try. Feelin' creative? Then give it a whirl too!

I want anyone who is feeling creative to make a card and take a picture of it. Send it to me. I will be posting it to my blog for voting and whichever card gets the most votes will win a 'prize' from me! It will be a SURprise... it could be some patterned paper, embellies, a yard or two of ribbon or even a retired stamp set. Who knows!

I prefer all SU product but I realize that might not be possible for everyone. So I'm asking that the stamp set and patterned paper (if any) be Stampin' Up! All other stuff is prefered to be SU but doesn't HAVE to be.

Don't be shy, give it a try! The sketch is from Jen Del Muro's site, Luv2stamp.

Stampin' Up's Inventory BLOWOUT Sale!

Check out the sale Stampin' Up! is having!

Some of the products are up to 50% off. There are discontinued items from the Fall/Winter Idea Book as well as colors and things from LAST year's IN Colors.

They are going fast so you want to check it out asap. I would also suggest ordering online so you don't miss out. The sale is good until January 18th or until they are sold out. SU doesn't have a sale like this very often.

Here's a LINK where you can order from ME so you don't have to pay those higher prices. You can also see pictures of the RETIRED stamp sets AND accessories.

I LOVE how there's a picture of each set so you don't have to go back and forth w/a list of page numbers and your catalog. Way to go Stampin' Up! hehe

New Catty Chatter

The NEW 2009 Spring/Summer Idea Book comes out on January 19th and runs thru June 30th. I have been checking out the 'chatter' and spoilers I have found at various places online and the only thing I can say is BOY AM I IN TROUBLE!

I thought I was 'lucky' as I only have 3 background stamps from the Retiring Lists, and I have to admit there wasn't much I 'had to have' from the current Idea Book.

The new one is a whole different story! We will be selling the Sizzix Texturz dies (similar to cuttlebug embossing folders) and have 14 new Designer Series Patterned Papers. WOW! I've also heard there will be colored Rub-ons as well as big, flat brads AND really fine glitter in chocolate chip and old olive. Does it get any better?

I have been waiting ever so patiently **NOT** for my catalog. Leadership is going on right now in Orlando, well it was over today so I'm sure all those lucky gals are on their way home now. Completely wiped out and exhausted but unbelieveably happy to have their copy of the NEW Idea Book already AND a new stamp set. Sigh... I sure miss that rush.

More teasers to come so stay tuned!

Steppin' It Up!

Okay, I've been reminded that some have missed my regular posted cards and Stampin' Up! stuff. **Thanks Karen**

It made me think a lot on it and where to go with my blog. Either cut 'er lose or step up and start posting more regularly. I decided on the latter ( Yeah me!) so I cleaned off my desk today and got my scanner ready to go. I couldn't scan, but had hubby fix it so I could... WOO HOO!

So, I've decided I'm going to TRY and post 2 -3 cards a week. I am going to go the plethora (gotta love the blogger spell check!) of swaps I received at convention last year. I will also give credit where credit is due... if the artist put her info on the card.

Here's the first Convention Swap Card, hence from the day forth known as CSC. It's by Bobbi Jo Clark. VERY cute don't you think? It uses All in the Family and Family stamp sets.
